Heading for Bornholm to hike again ( Early January)
Catching the night ferry
Text and drawing by Frits Ahlefeldt
Bornholm, a small Danish, 120km. long island in the Baltic Sea, could be my favorite hiking spot. I know its coast trail very well, but this time my plan was to head across the island, instead of around it.
I had downloaded the maps, checked the bus times, and was ready, with a bit more gear than I liked though, needed to test some ideas, and tune my way of writing and sketching up stories out while walking.
Fitting everything for sketching, writing and posting so I can carry it along in my backpack, together with my tent, stove, food, spare clothes and sleeping gear, while keeping the weight as low as possible is such a challenge. Still working to solve it.
Left my studio late in the evening and a few minutes later I was on an empty train station, just me and the surveillance cameras enjoying the silence between trains. Stations are so quiet then.
The train came out of the darkness, and I boarded, to head for the night ferry to Bornholm.
( The story continues in my next post, I will put a link up to it here, when it is up )

Experiment to sketch up a drawn timeline, all drawings are connected as a drawn path through the days.
