Old defence tower Bornholm

I hiked along the trail, outside the wall of the church yard, while dark noisy birds flocked the trees above, wondered if it was jackdaws

Stopping, I could see the old castell of the town – the only thing of a great defence structure that was ever build

It was a great plan, to build an impressive defence structure all around the fishing town of Roenne, to protect it and give the rest of Bornholm a secure main town, if attacked from the Baltic sea. But only the Castell ever got build ( finished in 1684) The rest of the structure only lived in the many plans and sketches. Time had moved on…
