We know for sure that the amount of many species of insects are falling, but not exactly what insects and how fast, and where… to help this several citizen science projects work to create more data

Putting nets on cars to help collect data about insects

The idea that is starting to spread is to put nets on cars that volunteers drive around on a special route on certain times. Collecting samples of the insects there and counting and documenting what they have found. Slowly the idea is catching on and more people, countries and areas are joining
