Learning to live with less

We humans put a great pressure on Earth, if we had to carry all our stuff, our impact on the planet would most likely be much smaller

Hiking can teach us sustainability

Earth carrying capacity is something many talk about, it is about how much the planet can carry before the environment will collapse. It is believed that we on a global scale are close to, or have already past this limit, with our current resource demanding consumer lifestyle – But if we can get inspired by hiking and a new kind of “human carrying capacity” we might drastically diminish our impact on the planet.

There is a good chance we would start to live more in more sustainable ways if we, like some long distance hikers, had to carry all our possessions with us:
