Penguins in ice Submarine Sphere Painting

Logbook 4. September 2018 – Rice paper lamp painting ( #009 ) about a group of penguins heading North as the ice melts

Painting and story of penguins on a rice paper lamp

Painting and text by Frits Ahlefeldt

Hand-painted a submarine made of ice and with a group of penguins in it, looking out while on their way. A painting all around the sphere of a rice paper lamp, finished painting the submarine and signed it with sphere painting number: #009

I have worked for several years with how to create better understandings, resilience and designs that can help us face climate change, global warming and sea level rise.

Some of the most endangered species because of climate change, are several species of penguins living on the fast melting South Pole . In the last 15 years I have worked with many different experts to draw up a whole bunch of innovations, designs and illustrations concerning climate change,  endangered coastal areas and biodiversity loss. Very serious, tough and sometimes depressing work… Today is one of the days I  just needed to let the penguins escape in an ice submarine:
