Logbook 4. August 2018 – Are solar panel tents are up at night, not at day, when the sun is out?
Is a solar power tent a good idea in other situations that on dedicated basecamp tents?

Most hikers only use their tents at night, carrying them on their backs along the trails at day, so how can a solar panel power tent be a good idea?

My first thought is not really, but then it all depends on how light these solar panel elements can be, and how the tents are used. I’ve started a research page here, where I have put up a few first concept ideas about how this might work for lighter tents, and even better for more dedicated basecamp tents for climbers and others that often keep their tent in the same location for a few days or weeks:
