Ancient Baobab trees as community spaces
Text and watercolor by Frits Ahlefeldt
Today I have worked with how to understand trees, especially the old baobab trees, as playing an important part of the center of communities – how they help binds communities together. The reason is that many of the largest and most ancient trees are challenged today, in ways they haven’t been challenged in million of years… By us. the paradox is that we need those trees and their fruits, leaves, roots, power, logic of balance, and scale of time, and climate stabilizing benefits more than ever.

Logbook from today – 14 of June – a few days after news broke that most of the huge ancient baobab trees needs our support, to survive the next few years
