Along many coastal trails can be found old ruins, forgotten towns and other cultural realities that time have moved past. Walking along the Bornholm Coast trail, I came by one such place. A huge castle ruin, high elevated above the surrounding landscape and with only what the locals didn’t managed to re-use, still in place
I wondered how the Hammershus castle ruin might have looked a few hundred years back, before it was deserted and left to the wind, sketching to better understand the place and architecture of it: Here is the watercolor sketch from today:
