Sketching and reading about the Inca trail

Logbook 21 Dec. 2017

Rough watercolor sketch and study of Machu Piccho and the Inca Trail

Watercolor and text by Frits Ahlefeldt

Day uphill, working to better understand the Inca trail and the culture, architecture and mystical logic behind the Machu Piccho, an amazing, secret high altitude Inca mountain fortress, build by the South American Inca culture sometime back in the 15′ century, with an amazing craftsmanship – and left to itself a hundred years later. Today it is the shortest day of the year, a day  that feels more like it was made just for being, while the year and planet turn around at winter solstice, and the days again starts to grow longer
