Elephant Watercolors

Sketching elephants in Watercolors

The largest land animal, the elephants, are majestic, beautiful giants that play very important roles in the ecosystems they are part of, but they are endangered in several ways

The biggest threat to the elephants is the ivory trade, as an estimated 30.000 elephants are killed every year, by poachers, farmers and former soldiers looking for fast money.

But it is not only the ivory trade that threatens survival of the elephants., in many of the places they still live, the elephants are also challenged by desertification, habitat loss and severe stress, that make it difficult for them to successfully bring up their offspring.

The World Wide Fund For Nature (Panda.org) work hard to counter the threats to the elephants, read more about how WWF´s  work to save the Elephants
